About NYMC

New York Mennonite Conference (NYMC) is a regional conference of Mennonite Church USA comprising 9 congregations in New York state. (Congregations in the New York City area are affiliated with Atlantic Coast Mennonite Conference.)

Officially founded in 1973 as the NYS Mennonite Fellowship, its primary goal was to facilitate fellowship amongst congregations, while leaving most conference functions to the conferences from which members originated. By 1987, the Fellowship had taken on the functions of a conference, primarily ordination and nurture of pastoral leaders. In the early 1990s, the Fellowship took on the name New York Mennonite Conference.

Today, New York Mennonite Conference continues to provide support to conference churches and pastors. The Leadership Commission of NYMC conducts the licensing and ordination of conference pastors. The Coordinating Council meets regularly to discuss conference matters and oversee events such as Celebration, Leadership Seminar, Ministers’ Retreat and Delegate Assembly.
